U.S. Rep. Robert E. Andrews, D-N.J., today is expected to introduce legislation that aims to expand pension coverage, especially for women; strengthen enforcement of federal pension law; and increase protections for terminated workers. Mr. Andrews, the senior Democrat on the House Employer/Employee Relations subcommittee, would be in line to chair the committee if Democrats were to regain control of the House in the Nov. 7 elections. His Retirement Enhanced Act also would clarify whether current pension law permits employers to offer workers advice on investing their retirement assets.
