Dean Barr was named global chief investment officer at Deutsche Asset Management, a new position. He will oversee both passive and active investment of the more than $650 billion in assets managed by Deutsche Bank worldwide. Mr. Barr had been CIO for the Americas.
Mr. Barrs position is part of Deutsches globalization process, Mr. Barr said. Deutsche is reviewing all investment processes and strategies and soon will name global heads of asset classes, who will manage integrated teams worldwide. Deutsche also is building a global platform for distribution of investment strategies, products and services.
