Arizona State Retirement System, Phoenix, will begin searches for active and passive small-cap growth and value domestic equity and active and passive international equity managers. The $24 billion plan expects to issue RFPs in late October, said Paul Matson, chief investment officer. The searches could result in the plan replacing all four of its current small-cap managers, which handle a total of $1 billion, and all five international managers, which handle a total of $3.8 billion, he said. The searches are part of manager reviews conducted every year.
