Villanova Capital, the asset management arm for the Nationwide fund family, is giving the name Gartmore to its three new mutual funds and to its renamed star mutual fund. Nationwide Financial bought London-based Gartmore in May.
The firm launched the Gartmore Global Technology and Communications Fund, to be managed by Aaron Harris. Gartmore will subadvise the two new international funds, the Gartmore International Growth Fund and the Gartmore Emerging Markets fund. The new funds will be available to retirement plan participants Oct. 2.
Also, the name of the Nationwide Midcap Growth Fund, also managed by Mr. Harris, will be changed to the Gartmore Millennium Growth Fund to reflect its new focus on growth companies that are "creating fundamental change in the economy, according to a release from Villanova.
