City of Fort Myers (Fla.) Retirement System, with $43 million, may hire nine active money managers to replace five mutual funds.
Debra Emerson, pension specialist, said managers recommended by new consultant PaineWebber are: Ariel Capital, midcap value domestic equity; Groupama Asset, large-cap growth domestic equity; Kayne Anderson, small-cap core domestic equity; Lazard Asset, international value equity; Regent Investor, domestic fixed income; Rorer Asset, large-cap value domestic equity; Sound Capital, growth domestic equity; TCW, midcap growth domestic equity; and U.S. Trust, intermediate-term fixed income.
All assets currently are in five mutual funds run by Templeton, INVESCO, Alleghany Asset, SunTrust and PIMCO.
PaineWebber replaced Southeastern Advisory, which did not rebid.
