Air France and British Airways stock took substantial losses following the crash of an Air France Concorde outside Paris Tuesday. Trading of the French airlines stock was suspended on the Paris Stock Exchange after falling 10% to 18 euros per share. Before the end of the day, trading reopened and shares closed at 19.3 euros per share, down 3.5% for the day.
British Airways stock fell 2% in London and had lost 4.75% of its value on the NYSE at press time.
Representatives from several major shareholders including Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo; Delaware Investment Advisers; Wellington Capital; Alliance Capital; and Capital Research declined to comment on their tumbling shares.
