CalPERS, through CalWest Industrial Properties, its joint venture with RREEF Funds, has agreed to acquire a portfolio of industrial properties valued at $929 million from Pacific Gulf Properties. Brad Pacheco, spokesman, said the $170 billion California Public Employees Retirement System, Sacramento, would buy a 98% stake in the portfolio. The deal includes 72 properties occupying more than 15 million square feet, making it the largest basket of industrial properties the system has purchased.
