Public School Teachers Pension & Retirement Fund of Chicago will consider additional allocations to existing private equity managers at its June 9 board meeting.
The $10 billion pension funds consultant, Mercer, recommends placing $50 million with new Brinson funds $15 million to be invested in a non-U.S. private equity fund and $35 million in a U.S. private equity fund. Chicago Teachers already has $40 million in commitments to Brinson. Mercer also is recommending additional investments in private equity funds managed by current managers Mesirow and Pantheon. The money likely would come from existing domestic equity managers.
