John E. Dominguez, director of alternative investments at the $30 billion Public Employees Retirement Association of Colorado, Denver, is leaving after five years to start a new firm with former investment banker John Linger. The company, not yet named, will offer an array of e-commerce services for private equity and other alternative investments.
Mr. Dominguez, who increased the systems private equity commitments to $4.5 billion from $600 million in 1995, will be succeeded by Kevin Kester, who has been named acting director for alternative investments. Mr. Kester was a senior portfolio manager in the systems real estate division.
