William L. Braman was hired as executive vice president and chief investment officer at John Hancock Funds. The post had been filled temporarily by Anne C. Hodsdon, president and COO of John Hancock Advisers, but hadnt been filled permanently since Robert Freedman stepped down as CIO in 1998.
Mr. Braman had been CIO and also head of North American investments at Baring Asset Management.
Hancock Funds manages $30 billion in assets for institutional and individual investors.
