Steven Koomar joined Prudential Asset Management as managing director and co-head of global fixed-income, a new position. He will concentrate on managing sovereign debt and currency risk for the global fixed-income team.
Mr. Koomars partner in managing the global fixed-income team is Dave Bessey, who adds responsibility for high-grade and high-yield corporate bonds to his existing duties as Prudentials head of emerging markets bonds.
Mr. Koomar managed global fixed-income and was a government bond trader at Goldman Sachs; a spokeswoman there declined to comment on his replacement.
Prudential moved all global fixed-income management to New Jersey, although research analysts remain at offices in London for European coverage and in Hong Kong for Asian coverage, said Timothy Biggs, a spokesman. Gabriel Irwin, the single portfolio manager for the strategy, moved to Prudentials international division, which manages assets for non-U.S. clients.
