Louisiana State Police Retirement System, Baton Rouge, is reviewing responses to the RFP it issued earlier this winter; the $240 million plan is seeking a large-cap value manager to handle $40 million, said Walter Smith, director. Although Mr. Smith declined to name the firm that was terminated, he did say that underperformance was the cause of the termination. According to the Money Market Directory, Palley-Needelman was the systems sole large-cap value manager. A decision is expected in April. PaineWebber is assisting.
