Alameda County Employees Retirement Association, Oakland, Calif., has re-opened bidding for an investment consultant. Since the original posting, the $3.5 billion funds consultant, Dorn, Helliesen & Cottle, resigned, and the fund reduced the number of meetings that the consultant must attend. Cooper Consultants is assisting on the search. The new deadline for submitting proposals is March 15. The $3.5 billion fund had received a low number of responses, said Betty Tse, investment officer. This is a major search and we would hope not to have to repeat the process, she said. Officials at Dorn, Helliesen did not respond to requests for comment.
