Public School Teachers Pension and Retirement Fund of Chicago may hire a real estate consultant. Trustees of the $10 billion fund interviewed Pension Consulting Alliance and Townsend Group yesterday. The board decided to postpone a decision on hiring until the April board meeting.
The fund has $600 million in real estate investments such as REITs, core real estate and opportunistic real estate funds.
The fund also placed Woodford Capital Management on watch and will review the emerging manager in another six months. At yesterdays meeting Peggy Woodford Forbes, chairwoman of the firm, addressed concerns over organizational changes that took place late last year after Michael Gayeds departure. Woodford manages $29 million in a large-cap growth portfolio.
