AMRO Asset Managementwants to expand in Asia, and part of its strategy is to buy another fund manager in the region. The firm runs $4 billion from its Hong Kong office and intends to increase its assets under management to between $15 billion and $20 billion over four to five years, said Frank L. Kusse, CEO with ABN AMRO Asset Management (Asia).
The manager is shooting to reach those numbers through a combination of an acquisition, increasing current assets and winning new business. Mr. Kusse said the company is in the process of looking in-depth at markets in which it might make an acquisition: Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore.
