SS&C Technologies invested in a startup Internet venture called WealthMetrics.com Inc., founded by Robert C. Shepro, former SS&C senior vice president of product strategy. Mr. Shepro left SS&C at the end of last year to launch the website, which provides financial planning applications and investment management tools to high-net-worth individuals and financial advisers. He will continue with SS&C in a consulting role. SS&C’s investment represents a new move for the firm, which caters its asset management software to institutional investors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
