Candace Cox has emerged from a hiatus in the consulting community to take the newly created position of director of institutional investments at Lord, Abbett. She will concentrate on shaping the companys investment strategies for institutional clients. Ms. Cox was most recently a principal in a small consulting firm, Emerald Capital Advisors, where she focused on investment product design and development. Officials from Emerald Capital didnt return calls by press time regarding Ms. Coxs replacement. Prior to her tenure at Emerald, Ms. Cox was president and chief investment officer at Bell Atlantic Asset Management, which managed Bell Atlantics then $54 billion pension fund. Previously, Ms. Cox was principal investment officer in the New York City comptrollers office, where she directed investment of nine city pension funds. Ms. Cox also served in the pension departments of Schering-Plough, AMF and Allied Corp.
