Louisiana Teachers Retirement System, Baton Rouge, plans to issue an RFP for a small-cap domestic equity manager in early 2000 because of a contract expiration, said James Hadley, director. The amount of the portfolio was not disclosed. The $11.2 billion fund also hired Nicholas-Applegate and Artisan Partners to replace international equity managers Scudder Kemper and Smith Barney, whose new bids were not accepted. Portfolio size has not been determined, but Mr. Hadley said neither will exceed $350 million.
