The Internet now has a cheat sheet for analysts and portfolio managers who forget when the earnings report for a specific company is due.
The Web site, which is called StreetEvents.com, was developed in association with the founder of First Call Corp., a Web-based broker research company; and Jeff Parker, who is the co-founder and chairman of new company called CCBN.com.
The site includes a listing of corporate earnings announcements, analyst conference calls and investment conferences. Company contacts, times and places of the events are also detailed.
"The challenge of this business is coordinating the activities of, hopefully, someday, 10,000 companies," said Rob Adler, who is president and co-founder of CCBN.com.
For now, the firm is gathering event information from 3,000 of the largest U.S. companies.
The site, access to which requires a password, allows users to search for event information by ticker symbol, company name, conference name, or based on customized lists of companies saved by users.
A calendar on the site allows customers to keep track of a schedule of specific events and earnings report releases.
Access to the site will cost about $100 per month, with potential for discounts depending on the number of users.
The data are given in real time and the beta version had more than 14,000 events listed. The official launch was Oct. 11.
