Babson College, Babson Park, Mass., committed an additional $3 million to Charles River Ventures, said Tom Cahill, consultant to the $147 million endowment, which has 5% of assets allocated to venture capital. He said Babson earlier had committed $2 million to Charles River’s Fund VIII and $2 million to its Fund IX. The funding came from investment returns. Charles River invests in early-stage technology and telecom companies.
