Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association board hired Barclays Global Investors to run the $24.76 billion funds $8.2 billion in domestic and international passive equity. The search was undertaken due to concerns over the July resignation of five senior level staffers from incumbent index fund manager Deutsche Bank, soon followed by the departure of seven more people, according to a memo circulated to the board last month when the board decided to issue an RFP to BGI and State Street Global Advisors.
