State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, Columbus, has been busy buying into the U.S. equity market to keep pace as the Dow Jones industrial average fell 5.8% between its Monday close and its 10,198.5 level at midday today. In-house staff of the $51 billion fund has purchased $400 million in domestic stocks over the past couple of days, said Herbert Dyer, executive director. The buying spurt was to keep the funds domestic equity weighting at 45%, he said.
