The editors of Pensions & Investments have made a number of staff changes, all designed to strengthen P&I's newsgathering abilities.
Joel Chernoff, a 17-year veteran of P&I who became London bureau chief more than six years ago, is moving to P&I's San Francisco office this fall. He will be covering portfolio management and general news on the Pacific Coast, as well as helping train newer reporters.
Succeeding him in London is reporter Beatrix Payne, who had worked for Risk magazine, International Money Marketing and Business Day in South Africa.
In New York, Terry Williams returns following his leave of absence as a prestigious Knight-Bagehot Fellow in economics and business journalism. He is covering trading and execution; he's also responsible for developing in-depth and investigative stories on a variety of subjects.
Chicago reporter Christine Williamson has assumed responsibility for P&I's business of money management beat. Boston reporter Linda Sakelaris has begun covering mutual funds.
In New York, reporter Phyllis Feinberg has begun covering risk management and derivatives; in Chicago, reporter Susan Barreto has taken on the investment technology beat.
