Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., Juneau, recently changed and broadened the mandates of three managers for more exposure to emerging markets, said Terry Brown, CIO for the $26.1 billion fund. Implementing an almost two-year-old decision, the board recently changed a Pacific Basin, excluding Japan, portfolio run by Schroder to a portfolio 50% pegged to the MSCI emerging markets free index. The other half will be invested in the Pacific Basin region, including an up to 50% Japan weighting. The new portfolio has $250 million in assets.
