Jim Grifo has been appointed head of sales for the Deutsche Asset Management-Americas mutual fund business. He formerly led retail marketing and sales for Morgan Grenfell, now part of the recently organized Deutsche Asset Management. Phil Stambaugh will lead the third-party distribution effort, including marketing to defined contribution alliances, bank trust departments, subadvisory accounts and variable annuity channels. Mr. Stambaugh was formerly a national 401(k) sales manager for Strong Capital Management. Matt Connors will oversee sales to wirehouses and regional brokerage channels; he was previously a managing director in charge of mutual fund sales at Bankers Trust and BT Alex. Brown, which were recently acquired by Deutsche Bank and are now a part of Deutsche Asset Management. Mr. Grifo will handle distribution of the funds to the registered investment adviser/financial planner channel. Christopher Farrell, a former Morgan Grenfell vice president, will manage national account relationships.
