U.S. Army NAF Retirement Plan Trust, Alexandria, Va., narrowed a search for its first core midcap U.S. equity manager to three finalists, said William Brantley, assistant to the executive director. The hiring is to diversify the fund, he said. The finalists are Janus, Mellon Equity Partners and Putnam. Funding for the $55 million allocation will come from reducing a $110 million S&P 500 index fund managed by State Street Global Advisors. The $500 million trust expects a decision next month. Callan Associates is assisting.
