City of Charlottesville, Va., hired Pioneer Investment Management as its first large-cap growth U.S. equity manager to run $8 million for diversification, said Greg McNeille, consultant to the fund. Funding will come from reducing a $65 million balanced account of which $30 million is in large-cap value U.S. equity managed by Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley, he said.
