EDINBURGH, Scotland -- Tom Ross has been named chairman of The Scottish Life Assurance Co. in Edinburgh, succeeding William Berry who is retiring. Well-known in British pension circles, Mr. Ross is a past chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds, and serves as chairman of the Pension Provision Group, a policy group that advises the U.K. government on retirement policy. Mr. Ross was awarded an Order of the British Empire last New Year for his services to the pensions industry. He remains a principal and actuary with Aon Consulting Ltd., in Harrow, England, and is chairman of Profile Corporate Communications, London.
