Proxy Voter Services, a division of Institutional Shareholder Services, has launched ISSue Watch, an online interactive database for investment managers with information on AFL-CIO and Taft-Hartley fund requirements, key votes and shareholder initiatives. The core of ISSue Watch is an interactive database that tracks the AFL-CIO key shareholder votes, as well as all Taft-Hartley and labor-sponsored proposals. The database includes real-time updates on the status of proposals and a detailed analysis of target companies and each proxy resolution. The AFL-CIO announced it will rate asset managers on 35 key shareholder votes this year. In February, Rich Trumka, secretary-treasurer for the AFL-CIO, said that money managers with less than a 50% rating on the key votes could be at risk of losing their Taft-Hartley business.
