Norfolk County Retirement System, Dedham, Mass., picked Wilshire Associates as a venture capital manager to run $4 million in a fund of funds, said Timothy Cahill, county treasurer. The other finalists were New England Development and Boston Capital Ventures. Funding will come from money set aside last year, he said.
The $340 million system also picked finalists in its search for a real estate manager to invest $6 million between them. They are TA Associates, Corcoran/Jenison and Sentinel Real Estate. Both Corcoran and Sentinel already manage investments for the system, which is considering Corcoran for an additional investment in the same fund, and Sentinel for one of its other funds. Funding will come from money set aside last year for managers that were not hired, Mr. Cahill said. The system will pick a manager at its March 31 meeting.
