Hialeah (Fla.) City Employees’ Retirement System is expected to hire Mellon Equity Associates as its first midcap U.S. equity manager within the next few weeks, pending contract negotiations, said Yolanda Rivero, plan administrator for the $460 million fund. "I don’t expect any problems with signing Mellon,’’ said Ms. Rivero, adding that the hiring will further diversify the fund. The portfolio size and funding source are undetermined.
