Julian Thompson joined American Express Asset Management as portfolio manager, Latin America. Mr. Thompson said he takes over some of the responsibilities of the Latin American portion of the portfolio from Ian King, fund manager for global emerging markets. The job focuses on asset allocation policy and stock picking for the region, Mr. Thompson said.
Mr. Thompson, formerly a portfolio manager, emerging markets, with Babson-Stewart Ivory International, has not been replaced, said Stephen O'Brien, managing director. The firm is currently ``considering its options'' regarding a replacement, he said.
