Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association, Concord, Calif., narrowed a search for a small-cap growth U.S. equity manager to five finalists and is expected to make a final decision at its Feb. 25 board meeting, said Chuck Barron, assistant retirement administrator for the $2.6 billion fund.
Mr. Barron, who would not reveal finalists, said the new manager will replace INVESCO, which was terminated for performance reasons.
Nina Lesavoy, director of public relations for INVESCO, said, ``We hope to have an opportunity to work with them again in the future.''
The $60 million INVESCO previously managed is now parked in a Russell 2000 index fund managed by Bankers Trust and will be allocated to the new manager, Mr. Barron said.
