Kathy A. Stover was terminated as executive director of the $3.8 billion Milwaukee Employes' Retirement System.
Ms. Stover, who was in a probationary period following her hiring last February, said she plans to sue, but declined to specify the grounds. William Carey, chairman of the pension board, opposed Ms. Stover's ouster, calling it ``a hatchet job'' by city officials.
Board member Michael Malloy denied Mr. Carey's charges. ``It was nothing like that. It was strictly a performance review. There was no hatchet job,'' Mr. Malloy said.
