Location, quality, price -- the certification program being started by the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association, Tallahassee, has it all.
Classes start in January at Indian River Plantation, Hutchinson Island, Stuart, Fla., on topics from "History of Wall Street" to "Quadrant analysis and universe rankings."
Raymond T. Edmondson Jr., the association's administrator, said the program is open to public pension fund trustees from all over the country. The classes will be taught by Harvard University instructors and will cost around $500 for a three-day program.
Another factor drawing officials to the start the certification process might be location. "Would rather you go to Boston in January or Florida?," Mr. Edmondson asked.
