California Public Employees' Retirement System staff will evaluate seven investment managers for its $1.2 billion investment in timberland, one of the nation's largest timber holdings. The staff will evaluate Forest Systems, Timberland Growth, Wachovia Timber Investment Management, Hancock Timber Resource Group, Forest Investment Associates, Campbell Group and UBS Brinson, said Sheryl Pressler, CIO for the $133 billion fund. Hancock currently runs the Sacramento-based fund's timber holdings.
While the fund may increase its holdings, the amount is undetermined. The evaluation is part of a routine process.
