"He is involved today in activities not yet trends, but (those) I think will be the coming industry trends," said Todd Doersch, a vice president at BARRA Inc. Among those trends: portable alpha strategies. Has implemented elaborate risk controls to make those strategies work.
"He is well placed to do neat things," said Kevin Johnson, a partner with Aronson + Partners. Mr. Williamson does "some pretty sophisticated things there."
