Founders Asset Management, with $7.5 billion in mutual fund assets, is moving into separate account management.
John Mezger was hired as vice president and director of private advisory services in Founders' institutional marketing department to spearhead the new effort. He left Janus Capital, where he was vice president-institutional services.
All growth equity styles now available in Founders' mutual funds will be available for separate account management, with existing portfolio managers adding separate account duties.
The firm is expanding its equity management team as well. Founders already has about $200 million in separate account assets under management.
