NEW YORK -- Chris J. Battaglia has been named advertising sales director of Pensions & Investments.
William T. Bisson Jr., publisher of P&I, announced Mr. Battaglia's promotion July 29.
"Chris brings a perspective, an enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit to his new position which will be good for us all," Mr. Bisson said.
In more than seven years at P&I, "Chris has made major contributions to the overall success of P&I, including the introduction of P&I into Europe and the launch and growth of P&I custom publishing," he noted.
Mr. Battaglia replaces Richard D. Ryan Jr., who resigned last month to join Financial Communications Inc., San Francisco.
In his new position, Mr. Battaglia will be responsible for the advertising sales volume of P&I, P&I Daily, PIPER and PIonline.com, and he will continue to oversee the development and growth of P&I custom publishing. Mr. Battaglia will report directly to Mr. Bisson.
Prior to joining P&I, Mr. Battaglia worked at Corporate Finance Magazine and Investment Dealers Digest and was in the equity new issues marketing department at Merrill Lynch & Co.
He holds a bachelor's degree in music from Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y.
