Steven Gruber was named senior real estate investment officer for the $29 billion Oregon Public Employes' Retirement System, Salem. The position was offered to Mr. Gruber after Oregon PERS' alleged its first choice lied on his application, said Michael Parker, a pension fund spokesman. Mr. Parker declined to identify the applicant.
Mr. Gruber had been an executive vice president with Liquidity Financial Advisors, a real estate money manager.
