City of New Orleans Employees' Retirement System is considering a commitment of $2 million to the new Liberty Freedom Fund, said Jerry Davis, chairman. The fund is the first from Liberty Bank & Trust, a New Orleans-based, African-American owned bank. The investment would be the system's first in a mutual fund. The earliest the trustees could make a decision on the investment is at their next scheduled meeting Aug. 31.
