PacifiCare Health Systems, Santa Ana, Calif., hired Wells Fargo as trustee for its $157 million 401(k) plan, said Carol Ackerman, the company's corporate benefit manager. Wells Fargo replaces Putnam.
The 401(k) plans aren't expected to be merged until next year, although Buck already had been hired as record keeper.
PacifiCare also could change some of its seven investment choices.
Ronald D. Schmitz was named CIO, a newly created position, at the Illinois State Board of Investment, Chicago. He formerly was director of benefits financing at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Chicago.
He hasn't been replaced at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a staffer said.
