New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, committed $450 million to private equity investments in June, said a spokesman for the $106 billion fund.
The fund made a $150 million commitment to CVC European Equity Partners II, a pan-European private equity fund; a $50 million commitment to GS Capital Partners III, a global fund; and a $250 million commitment to Warburg Pincus Equity Partners.
The fund previously invested $358 million with earlier Warburg Pincus funds and $70 million to an earlier CVC fund.
The new investments were funded from cash reserves.
