Kentucky Retirement System and Kentucky Teachers Retirement System, Frankfort, both exceeded their investment goals over five years, thanks largely to domestic stock allocations of 68% and 52%, respectively.
KRS reported the highest U.S. stock allocation in a study of public pension funds compiled by Kentucky's state auditor's office. KTRS ranked 19th overall. Each fund has $10 billion in total assets.
KRS reported a return of 24.2% for the year ended June 30, 1997; KTRS reported 19.6% for the period. KRS has an actuarial assumption of 8.25%; KTRS' assumption is 8%.
