Yankee Energy System Inc., Meriden, Conn., hired Putnam Investments as a core-growth equity manager for its $97 million defined benefit plan. Funding for the $29 million portfolio came from the termination of a core-growth equity manager, which Matthew Ides, manager of financial services, would not name. Evaluation Associates assisted.
Also, five funds were added to the company's $27 million 401(k) plan. Added were: MFS Strategic Income Fund A; Alliance Premier Growth Fund A; Lord Abbett Developing Growth A; AIM International Equity Fund A; and an S&P 500 index Fund from Merrill Lynch. The plan now has 10 options in addition to company stock.
