Companies can now e-mail news of their woes to the PBGC.
Companies can use the Internet to tell the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. about their inability to make contributions, bankruptcy filings and other transactions that can affect their pension plans. The PBGC, a federal pension insurance agency, has created an electronic version of its filing systems.
"Corporate sponsors of pension plans and plan administrators should find virtual filing an easier way to report an event," said David M. Strauss, PBGC executive director.
All the necessary forms are on the PBGC's home page.
