The average futures manager was down 3.1% in April, according to TASS Management Ltd.'s flash report. The poor performance resulted from high volatility in a number of markets, according to Nicola Meaden, TASS' chief executive.
``April ranks as one of the worst performance months for futures managers in recent times,'' Ms. Meaden said in a statement. The TASS flash report includes 88 futures and currency managers with a minimum of $45 million under management.
Steve Haxton joined Aetna Retirement Services, which includes Aeltus Investment Management, as head of sales. Tom McInerney, Aetna Retirement president, had been serving as interim head of sales. The position was vacant for more than a year. Mr. Haxton was president of bank distribution for Nationwide Insurance.
