Russell accepts job at Emerald
Steven Russell, senior private equity analyst at the Pennsylvania Public School Employees' Retirement System, Harrisburg, joined Emerald Advisers, Lancaster, Pa. He will serve as vice president and portfolio manager, a new position, focusing on small-cap growth stock. Mr. Russell said no one has yet been named to replace him at the Pennsylvania fund.
Nancy Mayer, Rhode Island state treasurer, was appointed to the National Summit on Retirement Savings by Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, a state Treasury Department spokesman said.
Ms. Mayer is chairwoman of the State of Rhode Island Investment Commission, which oversees the investments of the $5.5 billion Employee Retirement System of Rhode Island, Providence. She also is the chair of the pension section of the National Association of State Treasurers.
Rajiv Sobti is filling a new spot in the mortgage-backed securities team at BlackRock Financial Management Inc., New York, as managing director and portfolio manager. He formerly was head of quantitative research at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities, New York. Mr. Sobti has been replaced at DLJ by Bruce Alpern.
Gerard P. Sullivan joined Franklin Advisory Services Inc., Fort Lee, N.J., as portfolio manager. He will work on all of the group's equity funds, but will focus his efforts primarily on the Franklin Value Fund as co-manager with William J. Lippman. Before joining Franklin Templeton, Mr. Sullivan was a portfolio manager of the SunAmerica Growth and Income Fund, New York.
John C.E. Campbell was named executive vice president at Delaware Investments & Retirement Services Inc., Philadelphia, where he will be responsible for consolidating the international and domestic institutional marketing and client services. Mr. Campbell formerly headed up international marketing for the firm.
He replaces Barclay Douglas, who resigned to join Baring Asset Management, Boston, as president and chief executive of its North American subsidiary.
James Keeney was appointed director and senior analyst of the equity research department of ABN AMRO Inc, Boston.
In this new position, he will cover domestic pharmaceutical and drug delivery stocks, focusing on large- and small-cap companies. He previously was a senior director at Rodman & Renshaw/ Mabon Securities.
Victor Saliterman was named senior vice president, strategy and business development, for Cigna Investment Management, Hartford, Conn. The division of Cigna Corp. provides global money management services to the company and its insurance operations. He joined Cigna from Andersen Consulting.
Bradley S. Miller joined Boston-based Putnam Investments as senior vice president, manager-investment specialists for defined contribution plans. He will oversee a team of five investment specialists marketing Putnam funds and assist in client service. He was vice president, investment consulting services at Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services, Boston, where he has not yet been replaced.
Kris Robbins was named president of Security Benefit Group, Topeka, Kan., assuming the duties from Howard Fricke, who retains the titles of chairman and chief executive. Mr. Robbins will head up sales, marketing, product and market development, customer service, administration and information systems. He will retain his duties as chief operating officer.
