West Yorkshire Pension Fund, Bradford, England, committed £15 million ($21.2 million) to a private equity fund managed by Aberdeen Murray Johnstone Private Equity; it will invest in companies in northern England and in Scotland. The investment is part of the £4.8 billion plans strategy to gradually invest up to 2% of plan assets in private equity, said Stuart Imeson, head of pensions and investments at the plan.
The plan had about £25 million allocated to the asset class, but Mr. Imeson would not identify the managers or give details of any further private equity searches.
