Boeing Co., Seattle, is restructuring its $10 billion 401(k) plan by more than doubling the number of investment options offered. Boeing will add four actively managed equity funds and two additional passively managed stock funds to its five existing, primarily passively managed, funds.
State Street Global, Boeing's record keeper, will provide the two new passive equity funds. The four new actively managed funds being introduced at Boeing are: The MAS Value (equity) Portfolio; SSgA Small Cap Fund; Oppenheimer Capital Appreciation Fund; and INVESCO Science and Technology Fund.
Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle NFL Player Retirement Plan, Washington, hired Chartwell Investment Partners to manage the $39 million small-cap growth portfolio that had been run by Delaware Management.
Several investment managers left Delaware to form Chartwell in April. After that, the NFL Players Association, which oversees the $500 million pension plan, re-interviewed the portfolio managers who joined Chartwell, as well as managers from Delaware and HLM Management, said Miki Yaras-Davis, director of benefits at the Players Association.
